Since 2016, I developed the habit of reading. Ever since, I have read over 200 hundred books ranging from self-help to business. Of all the books I read, some of them marked me more than others. In this article, I am trying to answer a commonly asked question: What books would you recommend to anyone looking to improve their lives? Here are 10 books anyone who is serious about self-help should read.

Paulo Coelho wrote “The Alchemist” after having spent years struggling to attain success as a writer. The story follows a young shepherd named Santiago who embarks on a journey to fulfill his personal legend, or his purpose in life. Along the way, he encounters various characters and experiences that help him learn important life lessons and discover the true meaning of his quest. The novel is a philosophical and spiritual allegory that explores themes such as the importance of following one’s dreams, the power of the universe to conspire to help individuals achieve their goals, and the need for individuals to listen to their hearts and trust their intuition. With over 65 million copies sold in over 80 languages, if you have not read “The Alchemist” yet, I encourage you to do so. You won’t regret it.

The Seven Habits of the Highly Effective People

“The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” is a self-help book written by Stephen Covey. The book is based on the principle that personal and professional success can be achieved by adopting seven habits that are practiced by highly effective individuals. Covey’s seven habits are intended to help individuals become more effective in both their personal and professional lives by focusing on cultivating good habits that can lead to long-term success and fulfillment. These habits are:

  1. Be proactive: Take responsibility for your life and your choices.
  2. Begin with the end in mind: Set clear goals and work towards them.
  3. Put first things first: Prioritize your time and focus on relevant tasks.
  4. Think win-win: Seek mutually beneficial solutions in all interactions.
  5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen actively and communicate effectively.
  6. Synergize: Work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
  7. Sharpen the saw: Continuously improve yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Until recently, I didn’t put too much emphasis on how bad money habits can ruin people’s lives. The many questions I have received about financial well-being have given me a newfound interest in building sound financial habits. “The Richest Man in Babylon”, written by George S. Clason, is an excellent book for anyone who wants to improve their personal finance. The book uses a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon to illustrate the basic principles of personal finance and wealth building. How Will You Measure Your Life

“How Will You Measure Your Life” is a self-help book written by the late Harvard scholar Clayton M. Christensen, James Allworth, and Karen Dillon. The book is based on a Harvard Business School course taught by Christensen that explores the meaning and purpose of a fulfilling life. The book emphasizes the importance of finding meaning and purpose in one’s personal and professional life. The authors encourage readers to reflect on their values and priorities and to make intentional choices that align with those values. Success is more than just wealth or status; it’s about living a fulfilling life.
